All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal

The All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal exists to provide a cross-party platform for the development of a transformative Green New Deal for the UK. Through deliberation, discussion and collaboration.
The Green New Deal is a framework for a practical plan for tackling the interlinked climate and nature crises driven by an economy that isn’t working for the majority and is causing corrosive inequality. It will deliver an environmental transformation of our society and economy catalysed by public investment that solves these connected challenges and makes life better for all of us.
A practical plan for tackling crises driven by an economy that isn't working...
The APPG aims to:
- To create space for cross-party dialogue and collaboration on the development of a comprehensive plan for a Green New Deal for the UK;
- To gather and assess expert opinion to support the development of an integrated decarbonisation and economic strategy for the UK, identify and develop mechanisms for its implementation nationally and locally;
- To interrogate how this can best be financed, developed and implemented and bring best practice and new ideas from around the world into the heart of government;
- To contribute to national, regional and international attempts to develop a Green New Deal, sharing resources and information, and facilitating collaboration.
The APPG holds regular meetings and occasional inquiries to inform debate, discuss solutions and make policy proposal. See our events page for more on the APPG’s meetings, the inquiries page for more on our inquiries and the news page to keep up to date with all of the work of the APPG:
