List of members

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal was a cross-party group of MPs and Lords in the UK Parliament which met from 2020-2023. The group was co-chaired by Caroline Lucas MP (Green) and Clive Lewis MP (Labour). Its most recent list of members is as follows:

Caroline Lucas was elected Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion in 2010. She co-founded the Green New Group in 2007 and is the co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Clive Lewis was elected the Labour MP for Norwich South in 2015.  He is a member of the Green New Deal Group and the co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Lord John Randall was the Conservative MP for Uxbridge from 1997 to 2010, and for Uxbridge and South Ruislip until 2015 when he was awarded a life peerage. He was Environment Advisor to Theresa May until 2019 and is a vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Zarah Sultana was elected the Labour Party MP for Coventry South in 2019. Zarah is a vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Liz Saville Roberts has been the MP for Dwyfor Meirionnydd since 2017. She is the Westminster leader for Plaid Cymru, the party’s spokesperson for Transport and the Shadow Attorney General.  Liz is a vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Wera Hobhouse was elected as the MP for Bath in 2017. She is the Liberal Democrat Shadow Leader of the House of Commons and the party’s spokesperson for Women and Equalities and Justice.  Wera is a vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Deborah Abrahams was elected as the Labour MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth in 2011.  Deborah is a vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Stephen Farry was elected the Alliance MP for North Down in 2019.  He is the Treasurer of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal

 

Claire Hanna was elected the Social Democratic and Labour Party MP for Belfast South in 2019.  She is a vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Nadia Whittome was elected as the Labour MP for Nottingham East in 2019. Elected at the age of 23, she became the UK’s youngest MP.  Nadia is a vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Green New Deal.

 

Alan Brown has been the Member of Parliament for Kilmarnock and Loudoun since 2015. He is the Shadow SNP spokesperson on Energy and Climate Change.

 

Baroness Bennett was made a peer in 2019.  She was the leader of the Green Party from 2012 to 2016.

 

Baroness Jones was made a Green Party peer in 2013.  She was a London Assembly member from 2000 to 2016

 

Baroness Mcintosh was made a Conservative Life Peer in 2015.  Before joining the Lords, she sat in the Commons as an MP, and was first elected in 1997.

 

Baroness Lister has been a Labour Peer since 2011.  She is a Professor of Social Policy at Loughborough University.

 

Lloyd Russel-Moyle was elected Labour Co-operative MP for Brighton Kemptown in 2017.

 

Feryal Clark was elected MP for Enfield North in 2019.

 

Sam Tarry was elected MP for Ilford South in 2019.  He is the Shadow Minister for Transport.

 

Rachel Maskell was elected Labour MP for York Central in 2015.  She is the Shadow Minister for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

 

James Murray was elected Labour Co-operative MP for Ealing North in 2019

 

Alex Sobel was elected the Labour Co-operative MP for Leeds North in 2017.  He is the Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

 

Wes Streeting was elected Labour MP for Ilford North in 2015 and is the Shadow Schools Minister.

 

Beth Winter was elected Labour MP for Cynon Valley in 2019.

 

 

Global Alliance for a Green New Deal

Co-chairs of the APPG, Caroline Lucas MP and Clive Lewis MP helped to found the Global Alliance for a Green New Deal, a global alliance of parliamentarians working for a Green New Deal nationally and globally.
